A woman’s beauty routine is everything. It’s what helps you feel good both inside, and out. When you look good, you feel good. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I had the opportunity to speak with Caitlin Kiernan, beauty editor, and author of the new book ‘The Pretty Sick’ to learn more about how she dealt with trying to feel Beauty-Full, even with the challenges of fighting Breast Cancer. Kiernan’s new book, ‘The Pretty Sick’ is a guide to help women being treated for cancer, and those in remission, feel beautiful with tips and tricks she acquired in her battle with Breast Cancer.

One of the best things about fall, outside of Starbucks release of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, is that it is boot season! While watching the fall shows, I couldn’t wait to dust off my vintage Brazilian suede lovelies that I bought a few years ago. Being that the fall shows are shown in March, I had a few months to wait—and the wait was grueling. All I could think about were these amazing shoes I saw strut down the runway. Fashion’s key message seemed to be this ‘Warrior Chic” style dressing that I covered in my last blog, and footwear seemed to follow its cue. How they arrived there is not how you think. After viewing the shows from key design houses like Alexander McQueen, Chanel, and Balmain; each translated this look in very different ways.

The Art of Practicing Self-Care

What is self-care? It is defined as care which is provided by oneself, for oneself, in an effort to treat yourself as kindly as you treat others. I laugh at the thought. I am a working, traveling mom who recently relocated my life and home…and can’t imagine the thought of taking time to practice self-care. Like many women, very rarely do I ever take care of myself.

Group training is described as exercise performed by a group of individuals led by a certified instructor. There are a variety of group training formats that exist, so regardless of your passion or interest, you can find a class that fits you. Different group training classes include Zumba, cycling, boot camps, conditioning, strength, and flexibility.

Many people know that exercise is good and important for their health, but many do not know the first steps to take; feeling overwhelmed when going to a gym. This is where group training becomes very beneficial. Patriating in a group training class allows you to work out in a safe and effective manner. The classes are already structured with a proper warm-up, a conditioning phase, cool down and flexibility, designed to give you results. There are different levels of class from beginner to advance so it does not matter what level of fitness you are in you can find a class that suits your needs.
